Project Description

High Divide Small Grants Program

As a complement to its capacity-building programs for fledgling conservation organizations, Future West administers a small grants program to insure that local community-based groups in the High Divide region have available funding to actually implement some of the ideas and actions gleaned from these trainings. In 2015, over a dozen grants were awarded to an equal number of conservation and watershed groups. Grants supported, among other things, the crafting of fundraising and communications plans, updating and improving data bases and internet capabilities, while enabling staff and boards to work smarter. All of these activities are helping to “turbocharge” local conservation efforts to ensure that they are effective and sustainable.
